Ghana is set to receive support from Japan to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure through a proposed medical equipment supply project funded under Japanese Grant Aid.

The initiative follows high-level discussions between the Ghana Embassy in Tokyo and Japanese firms Green Hospital Supply Co., Ltd. and TEC International, Inc., focused on improving healthcare delivery in selected hospitals across the country.

The meeting, held on 10 June 2026 at the Ghana Chancery in Tokyo, centred on plans to supply modern medical equipment to enhance health service delivery, with particular attention to facilities in Northern Ghana.

The project is expected to form part of broader efforts to improve access to quality healthcare services and address infrastructure gaps in key health facilities.

Key implementation arrangements were also discussed to ensure smooth execution once the project receives final approval.

The Ghana Embassy in Tokyo expressed appreciation for the engagement and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships that support the development of Ghana’s health sector.

The collaboration is part of ongoing efforts to deepen Ghana–Japan relations through practical cooperation in priority sectors, including healthcare.

Officials say the proposed initiative adds to a growing pipeline of bilateral support aimed at modernising Ghana’s health system through international partnerships and grant assistance.
