It was a touching and emotional reunion as former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan met Roselyn, the daughter of his late friend, Castro, for the first time since the musician’s disappearance over a decade ago.

In a video circulating on social media, Gyan is seen spending time with the now-grown-up Roselyn, a reunion that has touched the hearts of many Ghanaians.

Speaking during a brief live session, the football legend admitted that seeing Castro’s daughter brought back painful memories of his close friend.

“I have finally met her since the issue happened. I don’t want to be emotional,” Gyan said.

Asamoah Gyan and Castro shared a close friendship that extended beyond music. The duo collaborated on several hit songs, including African Girls and Odo Pa, with Castro becoming a familiar face during many of Gyan’s public appearances.

Their friendship was tragically interrupted in July 2014 when Castro disappeared during a jet ski outing at Ada. Despite extensive search efforts, neither of them was found, leaving the country in shock and sparking years of speculation.

Gyan, who was present in Ada at the time of the incident, has often spoken about the emotional toll the tragedy had on him.

His latest meeting with Roselyn has been widely praised on social media, with many commending him for maintaining a connection with Castro’s family and showing continued care for his late friend’s daughter.

The emotional reunion has also reminded many Ghanaians of the enduring bond between Gyan and Castro, whose disappearance remains one of the country’s most talked-about unsolved mysteries.
