FC Nordsjaelland sporting director Alexander Riget believes Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi is ready to take the next step in his career, revealing the midfielder could complete a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues during the summer transfer window.

Yirenkyi has enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough campaign with the Danish Superliga outfit, establishing himself as one of the league’s most impressive midfielders.

The Ghanaian made 30 appearances across the season, scoring twice and providing six assists to cap a remarkable rise.

The talented midfielder has also enhanced his growing reputation on the international stage with a string of impressive displays for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He marked his tournament debut by scoring the decisive goal in the Black Stars’ opening victory over Panama before featuring in subsequent matches against England, Croatia and Colombia.

Speaking on the Transferguru podcast, Riget admitted FC Nordsjaelland could be prepared to part ways with the midfielder this summer, citing his rapid development and consistent performances.

“Caleb is about to have played a lot of games, and we have made some plans with him, so it could well be a summer sale because he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Super League, although I would say that he has looked a little tired towards the end,” he said.

The club executive also dismissed the idea that Yirenkyi would require a stepping-stone move before reaching one of Europe’s elite divisions, insisting the midfielder possesses the maturity and quality to make an immediate impact at the highest level.

“He is extremely mature. We have agreed that he does not need an intermediate step in a Dutch sub-top club or the bottom of the Bundesliga. He is ready, we think, to move directly to a top-five league and also a bit higher,” Riget added.

Yirenkyi’s impressive performances have reportedly attracted interest from several leading European clubs, including Real Madrid, Arsenal, Brighton and FC Porto, with speculation over his future expected to intensify as the transfer window progresses.
