The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary at Effiduase, Koforidua in theEastern region, has donated 300 mono desks to the school to complement the government’s efforts in improving educational infrastructure.

The donation fulfills a pledge made by the PTA to help address the school’s furniture deficit.

Presenting the desks, PTA Chairman Samuel Koranteng said the donation had become necessary because some students were using plastic chairs while others sat on old wooden chairs due to the shortage of desks.

He urged students to take good care of the desks, adding that the PTA plans to donate an additional 300 mono desks in the near future.

Assistant Headmaster Geoffrey Ofori Aggrey expressed appreciation to the PTA, describing the donation as timely since nearly all Form One classrooms lacked adequate desks.

He appealed to parents who are yet to contribute to the PTA’s fundraising efforts to do so, stressing that their support would enable the association to undertake more projects to improve teaching and learning in the school.

Mr. Ofori Aggrey thanked the PTA for its continuous support, noting that the new desks would create a more conducive learning environment for students.

Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary is expected to celebrate its 68th anniversary on 1 August 2026.
