‘You hugged me like an obsessed woman’ – Stonebwoy replies Shatta Wale’s ‘daddy’ claims

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has responded to comments by fellow musician Shatta Wale, who recently spoke about their relationship and described himself as a mentor figure in Stonebwoy’s early career.

Shatta Wale, in an interview, claimed that Stonebwoy used to visit him during his early days and referred to him as “daddy”, while suggesting that despite their cordial relationship, Stonebwoy could not match his personality and influence.

“Stonebwoy is my boy. He used to be with me. He used to come to where I rented my first room. He used to call me Daddy. I’m cool with Stonebwoy, but he can’t watch me. He can’t look me in the face; he will fall down. My spirit is too big for him. Sometimes when I see Stonebwoy, I feel bad,” Shatta bragged.

However, Stonebwoy, not one to take ridicule lightly, has reponded to Shatta Wale, in a post that has sent social media into a frenzy.

He questioned why Shatta continues to make certain statements about their relationship despite their recent interaction.

He challenged Shatta Wale’s comments and recalled their recent public interaction, which suggested that their relationship does not reflect the picture being painted.

Stonebwoy referenced the moment they last met at the launch of a sports funding initiative ahead of Ghana’s World Cup campaign. During the event, a hug was initiated by President Mahama in efforts to promote unity among Ghana’s entertainment figures.

Shatta Wale’s demeanor during the hug, according to Stonebwoy, paints a picture that he has been longing for a relationhip.

He tweeted, “The last time you saw me, you hugged me like an obsessed woman. Aren’t you tired of lying?”

The latest back-and-forth has reignited conversations among fans about the long-running rivalry between two of Ghana’s biggest dancehall acts.

Despite their occasional disagreements, both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have on several occasions expressed admiration for each other’s contributions to Ghanaian music.
