Afro-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has responded to claims made by fellow dancehall musician Shatta Wale about their relationship, dismissing the remarks and accusing his longtime rival of being dishonest.

The response follows a teaser from The Honest Bunch Podcast in which Shatta Wale made several claims about his past relationship with Stonebwoy, including allegations that the BHIM Nation founder once referred to him as “daddy” and that his personality was too overwhelming for Stonebwoy.

Reacting in a social media post, Stonebwoy shared a photograph of the two artistes embracing at a Black Stars FIFA World Cup fundraising event, which was their last public meeting.

“The last time you saw me, you hugged me like an obsessed woman. Aren’t you tired of lying?” Stonebwoy wrote alongside the image.

The post appeared to challenge Shatta Wale’s account of their relationship, suggesting that their public interaction contradicted the claims made in the podcast teaser.

In the teaser, Shatta Wale claimed Stonebwoy admired him during the early stages of his career but that their relationship changed after Stonebwoy established himself in the music industry.

He also claimed Stonebwoy could not confront him because “my spirit is too big for him” and suggested that the musician had issues with veteran reggae and dancehall artiste Samini.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have had a long-running rivalry within Ghana’s music industry, although the two have occasionally shown moments of public reconciliation.

Stonebwoy’s response has since sparked reactions online, with supporters of both artistes debating the latest exchange between the two dancehall stars.

Neither artiste has indicated whether they will make further comments on the matter.
