Months of planning, engineering and local expertise have gone into the construction of the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house ahead of the reality show’s premiere.

Organisers said preparations for the new season began in November 2025, almost nine months before the July 26, 2026 launch, with concept development, design, procurement and sourcing of materials.

The physical construction of the house was completed within two months, transforming an empty structure into a fully equipped television production facility designed to capture the activities of contestants around the clock.

The Season 11 house features 52 robotic pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades and 19 speakers, creating an extensive surveillance and production system to record conversations and interactions among housemates.

Located beside the live television studio, the house is designed to accommodate more than 20 contestants while ensuring comprehensive camera coverage across different areas of the facility.

According to organisers, the house undergoes major redesigns every year to improve storytelling and enhance the viewing experience.

One of the most significant changes was introduced in 2024 when the staircase was moved to the centre of the living room and bedrooms relocated upstairs, changes that altered the movement patterns of housemates and improved camera visibility.

They explained that structural changes are guided not only by aesthetics but also by production requirements, including camera positioning, contestant movement and how naturally interactions unfold within the space.

Beyond entertainment, organisers said the construction of the BBNaija house continues to provide employment opportunities for Nigerian professionals.

The project is executed locally, involving civil engineers, electricians, carpenters, decorators and other skilled artisans responsible for construction, electrical installations, interior design and finishing.

The production supports more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs each season, with additional teams brought in after construction, including camera operators, production crews, master control room teams, caterers, housekeeping staff and technical personnel.

Big Brother Naija Season 11 premieres on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with the launch show airing on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family.

The reality show will also be available through 24-hour live broadcasts on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, DStv Stream and GOtv Stream.
