The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says it will undertake a four-day planned maintenance exercise in parts of the Accra East Region from Monday, resulting in temporary power outages in affected communities.

The exercise, scheduled to run through Thursday, 13 August, will involve interruptions between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm each day, ECG said.

The company said the maintenance forms part of efforts to improve the reliability of electricity supply in the affected areas.

On Monday, the outage will affect Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Twumasiwaa Hospital, Ability and surrounding areas.

On Tuesday, customers in Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction and nearby communities will experience interruptions.

The Wednesday schedule covers parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-Teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina and Libya Quarters.

The final phase on Thursday will affect Achimota School and surrounding areas.

ECG has urged customers in the affected communities to take note of the schedule and make the necessary preparations ahead of the outages.

The company apologised for the inconvenience, saying the planned exercise was necessary to improve electricity service delivery.
