Former Black Stars player Baffuor Gyan has led a delegation of the Gyan family to the office of the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, as the family prepares to honour their late father, George Gyan Baffour Mensah, popularly known as Asase J.
During the visit, the family formally invited the Sports Minister to the one week observance being held in honour of the late patriarch on August 21, 2026.
Asamoah Gyan announced the death of his father on Friday, July 24, 2026, in an emotional social media tribute.
The late George Gyan Baffour Mensah was 82. The exact circumstances and date of his death were not immediately disclosed.
Sharing a photograph of his father, Asamoah Gyan expressed gratitude for the role he played in his life and acknowledged the support he received from him throughout his journey.
