Traditional leaders of Awutu Odupong have announced the death of the overlord of the Odupong Traditional Area, Nai Awoshie Tetteh.

The announcement comes after the body of the late traditional ruler was allegedly concealed following his death, leading to the arrest of two individuals in connection with the incident.

According to the traditional authorities, the two individuals, identified as Daniel Awer and Chris Banahene, were arrested by the police over the alleged concealment of the deceased chief’s remains.

The traditional authorities said the body was subsequently found following the intervention of the Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service.

The circumstances surrounding Nai Awoshie Tetteh’s death, as well as the events leading to the alleged concealment of his remains, are yet to be established.

The police are expected to investigate the circumstances of the death, the alleged concealment and the involvement of the two suspects.

The development has attracted attention in Awutu Odupong, particularly because of Nai Awoshie Tetteh’s position as the overlord of the Odupong Traditional Area.
