Give Us Plot, Not Insults – Kwame Mario Blasts Lilwin-Agya Koo Film

Entertainment pundit Kwame Mario has cautioned filmmakers against reducing a potential collaboration between actors Lilwin and Agya Koo to a predictable comedy filled with insults, saying audiences are increasingly demanding more engaging stories.

Speaking on Angel FM, Kumasi, Kwame Mario said bringing two popular comic actors together would have little value if the production lacks a strong storyline capable of keeping viewers interested.

“If the Lil Win and Agya Koo movie collaboration does not have a concrete storyline and is just full of insults, then it’s a waste of energy. We are tired of such stories,” he said.

According to him, some Ghanaian movie storylines have become so predictable that viewers can anticipate what will happen before the story develops, resulting in a lack of suspense and excitement.

“A storyline that we, the viewers, are ahead of them; no suspense,” he stated.

Kwame Mario said filmmakers must therefore focus on developing stories that challenge audiences and give them a reason to remain engaged rather than relying on familiar comic formulas.

He also suggested that Agya Koo’s age should now be incorporated into the roles he plays, rather than attempting to reproduce the type of youthful characters associated with his earlier career.

“Now that Agya Koo is old, he could take the old-age roles, unlike before, when they had to make Lilwin act those roles,” he said.

He argued that allowing the two actors to play roles suited to their current stages of life could create a more natural and interesting dynamic for audiences.
