Angel Reese has responded strongly since the Atlanta Dream’s heartbreaking loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday. The three-time All-Star secured another double-double in Atlanta’s win over the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday. 

Reese was again at her best during Thursday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Sparks, producing the most efficient offensive performance of her career. She finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in 30 minutes, shooting a perfect 9-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range.

Reese made her first eight field-goal attempts before breaking the Dream’s franchise record for consecutive makes without a miss in the third quarter.

The Dream star grabbed an offensive rebound after Jordin Canada’s 3-point miss and converted the putback for her ninth field goal of the night.

Atlanta immediately celebrated the achievement on social media: “HAVE YOURSELF A NIGHT, ANGEL REESE 🤯 That’s a Dream record 9/9 field goal makes without a miss from Cinco!”

Reese spent much of the fourth quarter on the bench with Atlanta firmly in control. She played only three minutes in the final period as the Dream cruised to a 124-88 victory, setting a franchise record for points in a game.  

The 24-year-old forward also made history on the glass. Reese collected three offensive rebounds in the first half. Reese’s third offensive board moved her total to 173  and broke her own single-season record of 172 offensive rebounds which she set during her rookie season with the Chicago Sky.   

The Dream improved to 23-13 with their eighth consecutive win over the Sparks and will continue their West coast road trip on Saturday against the Phoenix Mercury.
