Dylan Cease Announces Personal News on Friday
Toronto Blue Jays ace Dylan Cease had some personal news to share.

Dylan Cease’s first season with the Toronto Blue Jays has been incredible. The 30-year-old veteran right-hander signed a seven-year, $175 million contract this past offseason to become the staff’s ace. It was quite an investment at the time given Cease was coming off a down season with the San Diego Padres.
Across 23 starts, Cease has posted a 2.42 ERA along with 201 strikeouts in just 137 2/3 innings of work. He earned his first career All-Star selection and remains in contention for his first American League Cy Young Award.
While Toronto has been mediocre all season long, it does not fall on Cease, who has been exactly as advertised.

With Cease dominating on the field, his presence in Toronto has continued to grow and fans have been supporting his off-field interests as well. The main one being that Cease is a painter.
He has posted numerous works to his Instagram since joining the Blue Jays and actively auctions off pieces to raise money for charitable organizations.
On Friday, Cease announced that one of his art pieces would now be available for Blue Jays fans to purchase through a collaboration with the Art Gallery of Ontario.
The AGO shared the news on Instagram, announcing the launch of AGO x Cease, a limited-edition collection featuring his painting Eve of Toronto from 2026.
Beginning August 25 at 10:30 a.m., totes, sweatshirts, t-shirts, prints and postcards will be available both at the AGO shop and online.
“To celebrate the launch, we’re inviting the public to see Cease’s artwork for themselves, at a first come, first serve photo op in Walker Court,” the gallery wrote, adding that fans will have the chance to take a photo with Cease himself and see the painting in person.

For a player who arrived in Toronto as an unknown commodity off a difficult season, Cease has become one of the most beloved figures in the city in a remarkably short period of time.
