Indiana Fever Announce Unfortunate Aliyah Boston News After 37 Games

Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night, falling to 24-13 on the 2026 WNBA season after a 91-85 loss to Arike Ogunbowale and the Dallas Wings. Now, the Fever will look to get back on track with a Saturday matchup against Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty, still looking to secure a spot in the WNBA playoffs.

Boston has been one of Indiana’s top players during the 2026 season. The former South Carolina Gamecocks forward is averaging 16.9 points on 52.3% shooting, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, earning a fourth All-Star nod in four years.

But while Boston has played in 34 of the Fever’s 37 games in 2026, she has been dealing with a lingering injury throughout.

Boston has missed three games this season due to a lower right leg issue. She was forced to sit out for Indiana’s 89-78 win over the Seattle Storm on May 17, the 106-92 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on July 8 and the 110-107 win over the Seattle Storm on July 17.

For a majority of the games over the last month, Indiana has kept Boston on the injury report, usually listed as probable with the same right leg issue. However, prior to the loss to Dallas, Boston was taken off the injury report entirely.

But for the matchup against New York, Boston has made her way back onto the Fever’s injury report, downgrading the forward to questionable. Caitlin Clark (back) is also listed as probable, per usual, while Damiris Dantas (left knee) is still not with the team.

“Status Report for tomorrow’s game against New York: Caitlin Clark – Probable (back). Aliyah Boston – Questionable (right lower leg). Damiris Dantas – NWT (left knee),” the Indiana Fever wrote on X.

The Fever will take on the Liberty, potentially without Boston, on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
