Sky's Tyler Marsh Provides Encouraging Skylar Diggins Injury Update After 16 Missed Games
Chicago Sky head coach Tyler Marsh provided an injury update regarding Skylar Diggins on Friday.

The Chicago Sky are still in the WNBA playoff hunt with only eight games left in the regular season as they currently sit 10th in the WNBA standings with a 14-22 record.
Chicago sits six and a half games back from the Dallas Wings for the eighth and final playoff spot, though time is running out for the team to make a jump in the standings.

Fortunately for the Sky, they have won back-to-back games over the Seattle Storm and New York Liberty and they will look to grab their third consecutive victory Friday night as they face off against the Golden State Valkyries in a tough home matchup.
Ahead of Friday’s game against the Valkyries, the Sky received a positive injury update regarding one of their key players who has been sidelined since early July.

On Friday, Sky head coach Tyler Marsh provided an injury update regarding guard Skylar Diggins, who has been sidelined since July 7 due to a right knee injury.
Marsh noted that Diggins has resumed light on-court shooting as she continues to progress through rehab on her knee injury and he also stated that she could still return from injury this season.

Coach Marsh noted that Skylar Diggins has resumed light on-court shooting as her rehab progression continues.
When asked by @AlissaHirsh if the door remains open for Diggins to play again this season:
“Yeah, until either of us are told otherwise.” #Skytown
This is encouraging news for the Sky as it appears as though Diggins could still return from them before the end of the regular season, which could provide them with a late spark to make a push for the final playoff spot.
Of course, Diggins has missed the last 16 games for the Sky due to her knee injury and there was also some tension between the veteran guard and the franchise after Marsh removed her from the starting lineup in the beginning of July before her injury.
Despite this, the 36-year-old guard has still put together a solid season thus far as she is averaging 14.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 39.2% from the field and 38.2% from three over 19 games.

With the WNBA regular season winding down, the Sky could use Diggins back in their rotation as they try to make a push for the final playoff spot, and it could help that the league will take a 17-day break between Aug. 31 and Sept. 16 due to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Because of this, along with Marsh’s positive update on Friday, there is a chance that Diggins could return from injury this season as the Sky continue to fight for a playoff spot.
