Tyreek Hill Makes Season Announcement Amid Chiefs Rumors

Tyreek Hill is still working his way back from the devastating knee injury that ended his 2025 season. The veteran wide receiver suffered a dislocated knee and torn ligaments, including his ACL, in September and has undergone two surgeries. He remains focused on rebuilding strength in his injured leg as he works toward an NFL return.

Hill is also still a free agent after the Miami Dolphins released him in February. The former Kansas City Chiefs star has been linked with a potential reunion with Patrick Mahomes, particularly as teams evaluate their receiving options ahead of the 2026 season. However, Hill’s recovery remains the biggest factor in determining when he will return to the field.

Hill now appears to have made his stance clear through his agent. On Friday, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus told “The Pat McAfee Show” that he is still “not ready yet.” Rosenhaus also confirmed that Hill is not expected to sign with a team before the regular season.

This approach gives the eight-time Pro Bowler additional time to complete his rehabilitation before choosing his next destination.

The timeline is consistent with Hill’s recent comments about his recovery. In July, he said he had “no power” in his injured left leg and was working to regain it, stressing that his rehabilitation was progressing one day at a time.

The Chiefs are still among the teams that could potentially pursue Hill, but there is no indication that a reunion is imminent. Kansas City coach Andy Reid previously said there was “nothing happening” with Hill in February.

Hill’s decision to wait also means he could potentially join a contender later in the season once he feels physically ready.
