US moves to save small businesses from the scourge of COVID-19

US President, Donald Trump and his senior advisor, Ivanka Trump have both addressed the need to save small businesses from total collapse due to the economic devastation of COVID-19, thereby collapsing the American economy as according to Ivanka, small businesses are the backbone of the US economy.

According to President Trump, small businesses “employ nearly half of America’s workforce” so watching them go down in the wake of the global outbreak of coronavirus will be tantamount to sinking half of the nation and possibly risking the total collapse of the economy.

The case in Ghana is not any different as small businesses contribute about 70% of Ghana’s GDP. Any disruption in that space will affect the overall economy of the country and even for Ghana’s imminent collapse if small businesses are not able to survive COVID-19 will be inevitable.
