My parents doubted my music career initially – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has revealed that his parents initially doubted his decision to pursue a career in music.

Speaking in an interview on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM, the musician said his parents were concerned he might struggle financially if he chose music as a profession.

According to him, he later assured them he would succeed and eventually proved that he could build a successful career in the music industry.

Shatta Wale said his parents are now proud of his achievements and have become some of his biggest supporters.

He added that his success has also earned him respect from many people, including political leaders and other influential figures in society.

“My parents initially doubted me when I decided to pursue music. However, today they are my biggest supporters and best friends. They were concerned I might struggle as a musician, but I reassured them. I have proven myself, and now they are proud of my achievements. They offer their support, and even politicians recognise my work. I am respected and regarded in high places,” he said.
