Nigerian singer Timaya has sparked conversations on social media after advising single men not to rush into marriage.
In a viral video circulating online, the musician was seen in a discussion with fellow Nigerian artistes, including Phyno and Mr. P.
During the conversation, Timaya advised one of his friends to focus on having a child rather than stressing over marriage. According to him, the institution of marriage no longer works the way it used to.
“Just born pikin, pikin go grow. This marriage thing no dey work,” he said in the video.
The singer added that having a child and raising the child could be less stressful than going through the pressures associated with marriage.
