The Ghana National Gas Company Limited has dismissed allegations of impropriety in its procurement processes, insisting that all transactions were conducted in line with applicable laws and regulatory procedures.

In a statement dated 13 April 2026, the company explained that recent media reports suggesting misconduct were linked to the renewal of its lead insurance arrangements after the expiry of previous contracts.

According to Ghana Gas, the change in insurers formed part of routine operational procedures and was also driven by an enhanced risk management strategy.

“The Company wishes to categorically assure the general public that no wrongdoing has occurred. The new insurance arrangements are entirely lawful and represent an enhanced risk management strategy to safeguard the Company’s assets,” the statement said.

The company further clarified that all contracts awarded went through the necessary approvals, including clearance from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) and authorisation from the Ministry of Finance.

It maintained that due process was strictly observed in accordance with public procurement regulations, rejecting claims of procedural breaches.

Ghana Gas also reiterated its commitment to delivering reliable natural gas supply to support the country’s energy needs.

“The Company remains fully focused on delivering gas in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the nation’s energy needs are consistently met,” it stated.

The company added that it will continue to strengthen its internal controls to improve compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
