The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, says the announcement of a new head coach for Ghana’s senior national team, the Ghana national football team, will be made today.
Speaking in an interview, Adams indicated that the appointment process is nearly complete, with only final consultations outstanding.
“We’ve come very far in the process,” Adams said. “If everything goes as planned, we will be ready to announce the new Black Stars head coach by Monday, April 13, 2026. The discussions are almost done, and we just need to finalize a few details.”
The announcement follows months of deliberations by the Ghana Football Association to find a replacement for Otto Addo, who stepped down after a disappointing spell with the team.
According to the minister, the GFA Executive Committee has been assessing various candidates, focusing on experience and long-term vision for the team.
The decision is expected to shape the future of the Black Stars, particularly as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
