The UPSA Law School is set to honour veteran legal practitionerTsatsu Tsikatawith a Lifetime Achievement in Law Award in recognition of his enduring contributions to Ghana’s legal and constitutional development.

The award will be conferred on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, during the school’s third Honorific Lecture and Award Ceremony at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium on the University of Professional Studies Accra campus.

According to a statement issued by the law school, the ceremony will celebrate Tsikata’s decades-long career, marked by public interest advocacy, legal scholarship, and a significant role in shaping Ghana’s constitutional jurisprudence. The event is expected to draw a cross-section of Ghana’s legal and academic community, including members of the bench and bar, public officials, diplomats, and scholars.

A major highlight of the programme will be a keynote honorific lecture to be delivered by Betty Mould-Iddrisu, a member of the Council of State and former Attorney-General. The lecture will reflect on Tsikata’s legacy in law, governance, and legal education.

Following the lecture, the formal conferment of the Lifetime Achievement Award will recognise Tsikata’s profound influence on generations of legal practitioners and his contributions to landmark constitutional and public interest cases in Ghana.

The UPSA Law School described the occasion as a significant moment of reflection and intellectual engagement, underscoring the importance of honouring individuals whose work has shaped the country’s legal landscape.

Widely regarded as one of Ghana’s foremost legal minds, Tsikata’s career spans several decades, during which he has played a central role in advancing constitutional interpretation, legal advocacy, and academic mentorship.
