The Global Africa Trade Advisory Chamber (GATAC) will officially launch in Abuja, Nigeria, on 25 May 2026 as part of renewed efforts to deepen trade, investment and development cooperation between Africa and international markets.

The launch is expected to assemble business leaders, investors, diplomats and trade experts to explore opportunities in trade facilitation, strategic partnerships and sustainable economic growth across the continent.

GATAC currently operates in more than 20 countries through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model that seeks to connect governments, private sector institutions and development partners.

Through this model, the chamber supports trade facilitation, project financing and investment promotion in sectors including agriculture, health, education, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.

The organisation has also prioritised the creation of platforms that connect African businesses to global markets while participating in several international business and investment forums, including engagements held in Dubai.

According to the chamber, many of these engagements have focused on strengthening trade cooperation and unlocking opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

GATAC has also established partnerships aimed at promoting industrialisation and investment cooperation, including its collaboration with the Dawa Industrial Zone in Ghana.

The partnership is expected to create more opportunities for diaspora investment while supporting industrial expansion within free zone structures.

Beyond trade and investment activities, the chamber has supported several development-focused initiatives, including mobilisation of funding for medical and hospital projects as well as agricultural business development programmes.

It has additionally contributed to maternal healthcare programmes, educational support initiatives and projects designed to help African businesses expand into global markets.

The chamber is led by its President, Dr Dominic Oduro-Antwi, who has spearheaded the organisation’s growth and partnership agenda across multiple countries.

Dr Oduro-Antwi has received several international honours for his contributions to trade promotion, healthcare advocacy and development initiatives.

Among the recognitions are the Health Advocate of the Year award at the Global Community Oscars in the United States in 2019 and the Business Leadership and Health Advocacy Award at the Pan African Humanitarian Summit and Awards in Dubai in the same year.

He was also recognised as Outstanding Business and Trade Advocate of the Year in 2022 and later listed among the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa in 2023.

Other honours linked to his work include inclusion in the Book of Titans 3.0 (200 World CIOs), the Wisdom and Wealth Honoree Award in Dubai in 2023 and recognition at the Ghana Health Awards for contributions to healthcare advocacy.

The Abuja launch is expected to strengthen GATAC’s international footprint while reinforcing its PPP-driven strategy of linking African development projects with global investment opportunities.
