Danny Opoku Antwi, an NPP-USA youth organiser seeking the position of branch organiser, has received additional political backing from senior party figures, including former Manhyia North MP Collins Owusu Amankwah and former Director of the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Presidency, Hon. Akwasi Awua-Ababio.

Amankwah publicly described Antwi as a “great patriot” who brings “energy, vision, and action” to leadership, adding: “Our branch deserves someone who listens, acts, and delivers. That’s why I am supporting Danny for branch organiser.”

His endorsement adds to growing internal support for Antwi within party structures, particularly among grassroots and diaspora-linked networks.

In a separate endorsement, Hon. Akwasi Awua-Ababio, former Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, also declared his support for Antwi’s candidacy, strengthening what observers describe as a widening coalition behind the NPP-USA organiser.

“The man for the job”, Ababio wrote in a Facebook post…”He enjoys being around people and service to people flows effortlessly from him”.

Antwi, who has been active in the party’s diaspora mobilisation efforts, is seeking to transition into a formal leadership role within the party’s domestic organisational structure.

The endorsements come as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues internal restructuring and mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening its grassroots base ahead of future electoral cycles.

The party’s Deputy General Secretary,  Haruna Mohammed will supervise the elections in the US.
