President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the United Kingdom for a working visit aimed at strengthening economic ties, deepening diplomatic relations and engaging the Ghanaian diaspora.

According to a statement from the Presidency Communications Office, the President’s itinerary includes a royal audience with King Charles III and a breakfast meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

He was received on arrival in London by Lord Katz MBE from the Royal Household and H.E. Gordon Wetherell, Special Representative of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The visit, the statement said, is intended to build on long-standing relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom, promote Ghana as an investment destination and strengthen engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora community.

As part of the programme, President Mahama is expected to attend a diaspora town hall meeting organised by the Ghana High Commission in London.

He will also open the Ghana-UK Investment Summit at Raffles, where discussions are expected to focus on attracting foreign direct investment and fostering partnerships between Ghanaian businesses and UK investors.

The President is further scheduled to participate in a symbolic bell-ringing ceremony at the London Stock Exchange to mark the start of trading.

Other engagements include an address at Chatham House and a keynote speech at the 12th Africa Debate at the Guildhall in London.

The Presidency said the visit will conclude on 3 June.
