Nations FC have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 FA Cup after defeating Dreams FC 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday.
Joseph Effah gave Nations FC the lead in the 31st minute with a calm finish, but Dreams FC responded just before halftime through Abdul Razak Salifu to restore parity.
Both sides created chances in the second half and extra time, but neither team could find the winning goal as the contest headed to penalties.
Nations FC kept their composure in the shootout, converting all five spot-kicks to secure the trophy in dramatic fashion.
The victory sees Nations FC become the first club in 34 years to win the FA Cup after being relegated from the Ghana Premier League. They matched the historic feat achieved by Voradep in 1992 when they defeated Neoplan Stars 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Despite suffering relegation this season, Nations FC have earned qualification to represent Ghana in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
