Lawyers for Gifty Oware Mensah have demanded that EIB Network Ltd immediately pull down “inaccurate reportage” of court proceedings involving their client, warning they will cite the media house’s directors for contempt of court if it fails to comply.

In a letter dated 4 June 2026, Marfo & Associates, Legal Practitioners, said they were acting on the instructions of Ms. Oware Mensah, who is facing trial in Republic vrs. Gifty Oware Mensah, Case No. CR/0018/2026.

The firm said its attention had been drawn to a misreportage of court proceedings aired by GHOne TV, an EIB Network outlet. Copies of the publications and the court proceedings were attached to the letter, according to the notice addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of EIB Network Ltd.

“You are hereby directed to pull down all the misreportage associated with this case or in default we shall cite the directors of the media house for contempt of court,” the letter signed by Gary Nimako Marfo Esq., Managing Partner, stated.

Contempt of court in Ghana can be applied where publication is deemed to interfere with the administration of justice or misrepresent judicial proceedings.

The notice was copied to Gifty Oware Mensah. Details of the alleged misreporting and the specific charges in Case No. CR/0018/2026 were not disclosed in the letter.
