Ghanaian content creator and comedian Kofi Gharbin, popularly known as Mr Happiness, has stirred debate after declaring that a Dutch passport is more valuable than a PhD or even an Ivy League degree.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Gharbin revealed that he has officially become a Dutch citizen and recently received his Dutch passport, describing it as one of the most valuable achievements of his life.

Explaining what informed his bold assertion, he said the discussion came up during a conversation with a friend who had gone through an exhausting process to secure a five-year U.S. visa.

According to him, comparing their experiences made him realise the practical advantages that come with holding a Dutch passport.

Gharbin explained that unlike many visa applicants who must book embassy appointments, attend interviews and submit extensive documentation, his Dutch passport allows him to complete many travel processes online without even physically visiting an embassy.

He clarified that his comments were not meant to downplay the importance of education but to highlight the real-world opportunities and ease of global mobility that come with holding a strong passport.

For him, the freedom to travel, work and access opportunities across countries without cumbersome visa procedures gives the Dutch passport immense practical value.

Such experience, he opined, in certain respects, surpasses even the prestige of advanced academic qualifications.

His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many debating whether the value of a powerful passport can truly be compared to that of higher education.
