Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has praised Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson’s presentation of the 2026 Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review, describing it as honest, practical and hopeful.

Reacting to the budget review presented in Parliament on Thursday, July 23, Mr Cudjoe said the Finance Minister’s address was emotionally moving and reflected candour in outlining the state of the economy and government’s plans.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the policy analyst said the presentation left a strong impression on him.

“Charley, for the first time, I had goosebumps all over and watery eyes! What an honest, candid, practical, pragmatic, and hopeful presentation! What a conclusion! That was very presidential. Please, everyone MUST go back and watch the speech again! Damn!!” he wrote.

Dr Forson presented the 2026 Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review to Parliament under the theme “Resetting for Growth, Jobs, and Economic Transformation.”

The statement outlined government’s assessment of the economy during the first half of the year and highlighted measures aimed at sustaining macroeconomic stability, strengthening public finances, boosting infrastructure development and expanding social interventions.
