The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has engaged freight forwarders and other industry stakeholders on measures to improve cargo flow and efficiency at the country’s ports.
The engagement was led by the Director-General of the GPHA, Major General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono.
The meeting focused on practical measures to address operational challenges and ensure the smooth movement of cargo through the ports.
Major General Tanye-Kulono outlined initiatives being implemented by the Authority to improve port operations and support trade facilitation.
Representatives of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Meridian Port Services, Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Association of Customs House Agents Ghana, Customs Brokers Association of Ghana and Freight Forwarders Association of Ghana participated in the meeting.
The stakeholders welcomed the engagement and commended the GPHA for strengthening dialogue with industry players.
They pledged their support for measures aimed at creating a more efficient port operating environment.
The GPHA said it will continue to work with stakeholders to improve port efficiency and facilitate the movement of goods.
