Bayern Munich hosts RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena today in an important preseason clash in the 2026 Telekom Cup.

The match will serve as Bayern's final preseason test before Vincent Kompany's squad faces Borussia Dortmund next weekend in the newly introduced Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.

Bayern Munich bounced back after opening its preseason with a 2-1 loss to Wehen Wiesbaden. Kompany's side recently returned from its Audi Summer Tour in South Korea and Hong Kong, where they secured consecutive 2-1 victories over Jeju SK FC and Aston Villa.

RB Leipzig, meanwhile, finished third in the 2024-25 season and has undergone a quick transition following the departure of former head coach Ole Werner.

The club has appointed former Bayern Munich defender Martín Demichelis as its new head coach. Demichelis spent seven years with Bayern as a player and brings plenty of familiarity with the club.

For Bayern, Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano only returned to team activities this week. Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala rejoined group sessions earlier in August while continuing their individual rehabilitation work.

Meanwhile, for Leipzig, Assan Ouédraogo and Christoph Baumgartner are officially ruled out of RB Leipzig's Telekom Cup match against Bayern Munich.
