A massive rush for Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) GH¢15 anniversary deal has resulted in long queues and overcrowding at several of the fast-food chain’s branches across the country.

Customers turned up in large numbers on Saturday, August 15, to take advantage of the special offer as KFC marks its 15th anniversary in Ghana.

The promotion, which offers a meal of one piece of chicken, tenders, and small chips for just GH₵15, has attracted hundreds of customers eager to grab the deal, with some outlets recording unusually long queues.

Some customers reportedly arrived at KFC branches as early as 7:00 am on Saturday, August 15, in an attempt to beat the rush and secure the anniversary offer.

Videos circulating on social media showed customers waiting in long queues, with crowds stretching across parts of some KFC premises.

In some of the viral videos, security personnel at some branches were seen using canes to disperse or control customers amid overcrowding and heightened tensions as more people arrived to take advantage of the promotion.

At its branch in Ashaiman, the glass door to the restaurant was damaged as a result of the chaos.

The promotion forms part of KFC Ghana’s activities marking 15 years of operations in the country, with the company using the anniversary to offer special deals to its customers.
