Mahama Gov’t is building a resilient economy to end IMF bailouts—Ato Forson

Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson has expressed worry over Ghana’s consistent resort to the IMF for bailouts.

According to him, after resorting to the International Monetary Fund 17 times, this should be the last time Ghana goes back there.

In a social media post, he indicated that the government of John Dramani Mahama is restoring discipline, rebuilding resilience and creating an economy that can stand on its own.

His post read, “Seventeen IMF Bailout Programmes are enough.

We are restoring discipline, rebuilding resilience and creating an economy that can stand on its own.

The seventeenth Bailout must be Ghana’s last”.
