Cameroon and debutants Malawi will battle for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 title when they meet in the final at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat on Sunday, August 16.
Kick-off is scheduled for 21:00 local time, 20:00 GMT.
Both teams are chasing their first WAFCON title, making this only the third final in the tournament’s history where neither finalist has previously won the competition.
Malawi have enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign, reaching the final after beating Algeria 3-1 in the semi-finals. The Scorchers have also scored 12 goals, the most by any team at the tournament.
Cameroon, meanwhile, defeated hosts Morocco on penalties in the semi-finals to reach their fourth WAFCON final. They have conceded just two goals throughout the tournament and have kept three clean sheets.
The Indomitable Lionesses have lost all three of their previous finals, with their last appearance coming in 2016. They will be hoping to end that disappointing record against Malawi.
For Malawi, victory would make them only the second Southern African nation after South Africa to win the WAFCON title. They are also the first Southern African team to reach the final on their tournament debut.
The match will also be the first meeting between Cameroon and Malawi at the WAFCON.
Much of Malawi’s success has been driven by sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga. The pair have scored nine of Malawi’s 12 goals at the tournament.
Temwa has five goals and two assists, while Tabitha has four goals. Temwa is also level with Zambia’s Barbra Banda as the tournament’s leading scorer.
Cameroon will rely on their strong defence and goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, who saved three penalties in their semi-final shoot-out victory over Morocco.
A victory for Cameroon would make them the third nation to win both the men’s Africa Cup of Nations and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, after Nigeria and South Africa.
For Malawi, a win would complete one of the greatest debut campaigns in WAFCON history and make them the fourth different nation to lift the trophy.
