New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the party’s upcoming national executive elections, according to a survey by Global InfoAnalytics.

The poll puts Kodua at 36 percent among NPP voters who were asked to choose their preferred candidate for General Secretary.

His closest named challenger, Eugene Antwi, trails with 10 percent, while Sylvester Tetteh and Charles Dwamena record five and three percent respectively.

The figures nevertheless point to a contest that remains open, with 46 percent of respondents saying they had no preference.

Kodua’s strongest support comes from the Central Region, where he records 60 percent, followed by Greater Accra with 54 percent.

He also leads strongly in Bono East with 44 percent, Upper East with 43 percent, Northern with 40 percent, and Ahafo and North East with 39 percent each.

Eugene Antwi’s strongest showing is in Bono East, where he attracts 30 percent support. He records 18 percent in the Volta Region and 14 percent in Greater Accra.

The survey also suggests that Mr Kodua’s support cuts across the camps of the leading contenders in the NPP’s National Chairman race.

Among voters who favour former General Secretary John Boadu for National Chairman, 63 percent also support Mr Kodua for General Secretary.

Kodua receives 53 percent support among those backing former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, and 49 percent among supporters of former National Chairman Paul Afoko.

The findings indicate that Mr Kodua currently enjoys significant cross-camp support as the NPP prepares to elect its national officers.

The Global InfoAnalytics survey also places former Greater Accra Regional Minister Titus Glover ahead in the National Organiser race, with 23 percent, while half of respondents remain undecided.

The survey was conducted through telephone interviews between August 10 and 12, 2026.

It involved 2,557 respondents drawn from all 16 regions, using probability random sampling with regional quota limits and the 2024 Electoral Commission register as the sample frame.

The poll has a reported 99 percent confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.56 percentage points.
