The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially approved the change of name of Ashtown Ladies Football Club to Ashanti Ladies Football Club.

The decision follows a formal request from the club’s owners, who submitted the necessary documents to support the change.

The GFA confirmed that it had received the club’s new incorporation documents from the Registrar General’s Department and noted that the name change was completed in line with the law.

The Football Association has therefore approved the change from Ashtown Ladies Football Club to Ashanti Ladies Football Club.

However, the GFA stated that all existing documents, rights and obligations linked to the former name will remain valid.

This includes any debts or fines owed to the GFA, as well as player registration licences and fees.

The club’s existing obligations will continue under its new name.
