NPP MP questions prices of domestic flights in an economy “doing well”

Akyem Swedru Member of Parliament, Kennedy Nyarko Osei has complained bitterly about the prices of domestic flights especially in an economy touted as doing better.

He holds the view that if the government is saying that the economy is doing very well, then it is shocking that prices of flight can skyrocket like they have.

The legislator cited previous prices against the current ones and expressed worry over how expensive they have become.

His position expressed through social media read “In 2024 a return air ticket from Accra – Kumasi was between 1,600 – 2,000 depending on the peak even when inflation and other economic conditions were not all that favorable. Today with inflation and exchange rate reasonably down a return flight to the same destination will cost you between 4,000 – 5,000.

This is crazy and doesn’t make sense if the economy is doing well then prices must rather go down or stabilizes and not to tick up”.
