Ghanaian actor Agya Koo has unveiled a new political movement dubbed “The Base – Ghana First,” positioning it as a fresh alternative in the country’s political landscape.

The announcement followed a public engagement at Kejetia in Kumasi, where the actor interacted with traders, drivers, graduates, and other citizens.

According to him, the discussions revealed widespread concerns about economic hardship and a growing public demand for a new direction in governance.

Agya Koo said the movement is being driven by the voices of ordinary Ghanaians who believe the country needs a “third force” beyond the two dominant political traditions.

He stressed that Ghana’s development should not be limited to only two major options, insisting that a broader platform is needed to reflect the aspirations of the people.

The Base – Ghana First movement, he explained, will serve as a nationwide political structure aimed at building what he described as a better Ghana through grassroots mobilisation across all 16 regions.

He added that the movement will be guided by principles of transparency, unity and progress, with a focus on giving ordinary citizens a stronger voice in national decision-making.

The initiative marks Agya Koo’s latest involvement in public advocacy, as he joins a growing list of public figures engaging more directly in political conversations ahead of the evolving national discourse.
