Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has set his sights on finishing top of Group L at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, as Ghana prepare for a crucial final group match against Croatia.

Ghana strengthened their qualification hopes with a disciplined goalless draw against England at Boston Stadium on Tuesday, a result that leaves both sides level on four points after two matches and sets up a tense conclusion to the group stage.

Sibo, who impressed with a composed and disciplined midfield performance against the Three Lions, praised the tactical approach of head coach Carlos Queiroz, saying the team executed the game plan effectively.

“He told us to be compact. He told us to fight for each other. And he told us that, at this moment, he knows that we will suffer because we are playing against a great team. But still, we should keep our mentality tough, fight from the first minute to 90 minutes,” Sibo said.

“I think we listened to him and we followed his instructions and we did the job for him.”

With qualification to the Round of 32 within reach, the 26-year-old midfielder expressed confidence that Ghana can complete the job against Croatia on Saturday.

“Now, the game against Croatia — I don’t think, I just believe that we’re going to take all three points,” he said.

“We want to be leaders in the group, and we are not looking back.”

Sibo acknowledged Ghana’s cautious approach against England but insisted the team would adopt a more attacking mindset in their final group fixture.

“Against England, we defended a lot. We had one chance that could have given us three points. So going against Croatia, it’s all in all, for the nation,” he added.

Ghana face Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field, knowing that victory would secure a place in the Round of 32 and could also see them finish as Group L winners.
