The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has held discussions with AlphaVecta Technologies Limited on a strategic partnership ahead of the upcoming One Vecta Summit 2026 scheduled for Accra.

The meeting, held with a delegation led by the Chief Executive Officer of AlphaVecta Technologies, Carlos Amoako, focused on possible areas of collaboration as well as a proposal for the Minister to serve as Chair and Continental Patron of the summit.

The One Vecta Summit 2026 is expected to take place in September next year in Accra and will bring together ministers, regulators, innovators, investors and industry leaders from across Africa to discuss practical approaches to artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

During the engagement, Sam George reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and strengthening digital infrastructure within the sub-region.

He disclosed that government is pursuing plans to establish a US$250 million AI compute infrastructure to support digital transformation efforts across West Africa.

The Minister also highlighted Ghana’s growing influence in tech diplomacy, referencing ongoing engagements with countries including Zambia and Malawi aimed at exporting Ghanaian digital solutions such as digital identity systems.

According to him, the government remains committed to positioning Ghana as a leading technology and innovation hub on the continent.

Sam George welcomed the proposal from AlphaVecta Technologies and expressed openness to deeper collaboration with the organisers of the summit.

He further directed that discussions should continue through the Ministry’s technical teams, particularly in areas aligned with government priorities including health, education, financial inclusion, e-governance and digital architecture.

Speaking during the meeting, Carlos Amoako described the One Vecta Summit as an evolution of the Pan African AI Summit 2025, which he said has emerged as one of Africa’s leading practical platforms for AI and digital transformation dialogue.

He explained that the summit aims to move beyond policy discussions into actionable outcomes by developing implementation roadmaps, investment pathways and policy frameworks for artificial intelligence adoption across the continent.

Amoako stressed the importance of the Ministry’s involvement, saying government leadership will be critical in driving a continental movement capable of strengthening Ghana’s position as a centre for AI innovation and policy direction.

According to him, the summit is expected to position Accra as a continental convening hub for emerging technologies while attracting investments, partnerships and cross-border collaboration to accelerate Africa’s AI readiness and innovation ecosystem.
