NIA introduces 24-hour Ghana Card registration centre at Labone

The National Identification Authority (NIA) will, from Saturday, August 1, 2026, begin operating its first-ever 24-hour Prestige Centre in Accra, marking a significant step towards expanding access to Ghana Card registration and other identity-related services.

The new premium facility, located at Labone, will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends, enabling members of the public to access NIA services at any time that is convenient for them.

The announcement was contained in a press release dated July 29, 2026, and signed by the Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the NIA, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas.

According to the Authority, the introduction of the Prestige Centre forms part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery by offering faster, more convenient and flexible access to Ghana Card registration and related identity services.

Unlike the NIA’s regular registration centres, services at the Prestige Centre will be provided on a fee-paying basis, with all transactions subject to approved charges.

The Authority emphasised that the new facility is designed to complement, rather than replace, its existing registration centres by providing an additional service option for applicants who require extended operating hours and expedited processing.

The NIA further disclosed that the Labone facility is the first of several Prestige Centres planned across the country, with additional centres expected to be rolled out in other locations as they become operational.

Reaffirming its commitment to efficient identity management, the Authority said the initiative reflects its resolve to make identity services more accessible, secure and customer-centred for all eligible Ghanaians.
