The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has postponed indefinitely the matriculation ceremony for its 2026 Sandwich students.

The ceremony was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, the decision follows the ongoing strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).

The university said the strike has affected critical administrative processes needed to organise the ceremony.

“Management regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause affected students, their families, and staff,” the statement said.

The university assured students and the wider community that a new date would be announced once normal administrative activities resume.

The postponement affects all 2026 Sandwich students who were expected to be formally matriculated on Saturday.

Management thanked students, staff, and other stakeholders for their cooperation.
