NPP regional election: Joseph K. Essibu elected Central Regional NPP chairman

Dr Joseph K. Essibu has been elected Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after securing 278 votes in the party’s 2026 regional executive elections.
Essibu defeated Percyval Dennis Quaicoe, who polled 161 votes, in the chairmanship contest.
Adwoa was elected Women’s Organiser with 303 votes, beating Ahema, who secured 136 votes.
Agyemang won the Communications Officer position after polling 233 votes. Blankson received 118 votes, while Noah obtained 85.
Safianu emerged as Nasara Organiser with 207 votes, ahead of Kabore with 161 votes and Buba with 70 votes.
Odeneho secured the Youth Organiser position with 189 votes. Sam polled 138 votes, while Lawrence obtained 131.
Anthony Sackey won the Organiser position with 333 votes, defeating Anthony Appiah, who polled 72, and Kenneth Quansah, who secured 34 votes.
The elections form part of the NPP’s process of selecting new regional executives to lead the party’s activities and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Essibu and the other newly elected executives are expected to take charge of the party’s organisation, mobilisation and grassroots activities in the Central Region.
